iCandy

Art Direction and Graphic Design
Role Overview
iCandy is one of the UK's leading premium push-chair manufacturers. With almost 100 years in business and proud of their British heritage, with an innovative and technologically-minded approach to design and branding, my role as a Graphic Designer was maintain this image through their Marketing and Sales messaging.
My Contributions
As part of a committed team of Graphic Designers, I worked on the production of a wide range of different contact points in both digital and in traditional media. Pulling on my Animation experience, I was often tasked with the more dynamic and visually stimulating projects, overseeing art direction alongside adverts and brochures.
Cerium
Project Lead
2018 - 2019
As Project Lead of the Cerium production, I created a visual style to dramatically introduce the collection.

The general idea went through many phases of development. With timescales and budget moving around a lot, I created several ideas that factored these elements whilst maintaining direct links to the properties of cerium. Idea’s ranged from a Phoenix rising from the ashes, to tie in with the rebirth of a popular colour-way and how Cerium is used; to a 3D animation of a cube, cracked from the top, with a pushchair emerging from the centre. Gathering quotes from production companies and animation studios to estimate which concept would best suite the businesses needs.

iCandy
Graphic Designer
Jan 2015 - Feb 2019
My day to day tasks as a graphic designer. Working with the Sales and Marketing department I created advertorials and promotional material to aid retailers and the team. I ensured brand consistency is maintained throughout while giving each piece a unique look to keep the brand looking fresh. Projects have ranged from condensing the main product guide to pocket guides; POS material such as window displays, strut cards and swing tickets, retailer guides, web banners, product photography and retouching.

Coming from an animation background allowed me to grasp graphic design fairly quickly, and gave me a good eye for composition and design. Conceptually I’ve pushed for more creative ways for iCandy to reach new customers. For example mocking up play cubes with images of the various configurations the pushchair can come in, so children visiting with their parents at a nursery store could play with it.
